My approach to therapy is rooted in exploring how personal relationships impact how we perceive ourselves and how they can affect our potential for growth. Feelings of hopelessness and low self-esteem can arise when feeling stuck or when we experience the urge to numb our emotions. My aim as a therapist is to provide a non-judgmental space to address these feelings as well as create an opportunity to explore how we make meaning out of our daily struggles.
I specialize in exploring patterns of thinking that undermine emotional stability and lead to feelings of depression and anxiety. By focusing on communication skills, empowering personal responsibility, and expressing conflicted emotions; I support individuals and couples to develop concrete skills to foster positive relationships and a healthy sense of self.
Aside from my psychology training, I bring academic experience and a deep interest in philosophy, art, and art history to my therapeutic style. For some clients, seeking meaning in creative ways can provide a deeper sense of purpose when working to address challenges related to love, work, and personal history.
I offer free phone consultations if you are interested in learning more about my practice or possibly pursuing counseling services.
