Dr. Megan Mercurio brings a warm, insightful, and deeply collaborative approach to therapy, helping adults, couples, and professionals navigate emotional challenges, relationship concerns, trauma, and unhealthy patterns that may be keeping them feeling stuck. Dr. Mercurio earned her PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Holy Family University and also holds a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University. With more than 14 years of clinical experience, she has worked across private practice, intensive outpatient programs, eating disorder treatment settings, and behavioral health programs specializing in emotional wellness and recovery-oriented care.
Dr. Mercurio specializes in trauma-informed psychotherapy and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, helping clients work through anxiety, panic, unresolved trauma, distressing life experiences, self-esteem struggles, relational wounds, and persistent emotional patterns that interfere with fulfillment and connection. Her work is especially valued by individuals who feel overwhelmed internally while still appearing highly functional externally — including professionals, caregivers, and individuals navigating high-pressure lifestyles or emotionally demanding relationships.
In addition to individual therapy, Dr. Mercurio has extensive experience working with couples and relationship dynamics. She helps clients better understand communication patterns, attachment concerns, emotional disconnection, trust issues, and recurring cycles that can quietly erode intimacy and emotional well-being over time. Her style is thoughtful, engaged, and highly personalized, balancing insight-oriented exploration with practical tools that foster meaningful change.
Dr. Mercurio’s clinical background also includes extensive work with individuals struggling with compulsive behaviors, emotional coping patterns, and co-occurring concerns related to mood, trauma, and relational distress. Her experience as a former clinical supervisor within an intensive outpatient setting further strengthened her expertise in helping clients who may feel emotionally exhausted, disconnected from themselves, or caught in cycles they no longer want to repeat.
Her therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness-based strategies, attachment-focused work, and trauma-informed care. She believes therapy should feel collaborative, emotionally safe, and tailored to the individual — never one-size-fits-all.
Dr. Mercurio offers both in-person and virtual therapy sessions and works with clients at a pace that feels supportive, productive, and sustainable. Her goal is to help clients gain insight into the underlying factors contributing to emotional distress while building healthier patterns, greater self-understanding, and a stronger sense of authenticity within themselves and their relationships.
Dr. Mercurio believes many people spend years managing symptoms, tolerating emotional pain, or functioning in survival mode without realizing how much more relief, clarity, and fulfillment may be possible. She views therapy as an opportunity to move beyond simply coping and toward creating lasting internal change — helping clients feel more grounded, connected, confident, and emotionally free in their daily lives.
